Earth Day!

So, in light of Earth Day, we are actually making more of an effort to be environmentally cautious. We already recycle all of our plastic, aluminum, and newspapers. It's easy here, since we have a recycle trash bin. So, now we are moving on to bigger things. Since I am an admitted paper towel - aholic, there is no way I can change that. So for now we have changed to environmentally friendly cleaners, we switched to Green Works (by Clorox), and it works great! We also changed our light bulbs and we shouldn't have to change them again until we move. We've also bought a bunch of reuseable bags for the grocery. My next move is to try Eco-friendly dishwasher detergent & laundry soap.
Berkley's school had a fun Earth Day assembly and project contest. They also had stations set up that we rotated through to learn more about the Earth and the reasons for recycling & taking care of it. Anyway, there was a Recycled Material Art Project that they could enter. Berkley decided to make a wind chime. We used a paper plate & hung plastic forks & spoons and old soda cans from it. She won 2nd place! She's helping to keep us GREEN!

Ed is 29!!!!

For Ed's birthday I took him to the MLB Season Opener. It was here in Japan - at the Tokyo Dome. Especially great was that it was the Boston Red Sox (one of Ed's fav teams) vs. the Oakland A's. The Red Sox won, in extra innings. It was such a good game!!!!
Thanks to Kami - I have been tagged! So, here are 7 things that you may not know about me. I agree with Kami, this will be hard, since I'm usually an open book.

1 - I miss working. I love my kids, but I miss adult interaction.

2 - I hate 1pm church.

3 - I would not mind never going to Idaho again - not because of the people, I would want ot see you (maybe we could meet elsewhere) - but I hate the weather!

4 - I love TV (I am also addicted to GH!)! My new addiction is 'In the Motherhood', although it's online - it's the same concept.

5 - I have OCD. (okay, so that may not be a secret)

6 - I can cook various dishes from Japan, China & the Phillipines.

7 - I am an excellent dessert cook!

That was very difficult! There are some things I can't say - people would hate me. . .

Welcome to our first blog! Since everybody else has a 'blogspot', we decided to conform and join in. Also, since our other blog is so outdated - why not make a fresh start?!? For those of you who haven't kept up - here is the DL.

Ed and I have been married for almost 6 years! Wow - time flys! Ed is in the Army (which means: We are in the Army.) and we are currently stationed in Japan. It is so awesome! WE LOVE IT! Japan is definately one of the Army's secrets. We've been here for almost a year and a half - which means sadly we are halfway done with our tour. We are trying to extend - so hopefully we'll get to stay longer. Our family is small, but it keeps me very, very busy! Berkley, who is 4 1/2 is in Sure Start. It's the best preschool around. She is there all day - yea, for Mom! Finley (aka Sassy), will be 3 in June. She is also going to preschool, but unfortunately, it's only a few hours in the morning. She is quite the adventurous girl! She is also an excellent escape artist! We are expecting our 3 (and hopefully last) installment in the middle of August. This time they say it's a boy! We are still unsure if we should believe it or not. We are big believers in the 'if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. . .' so we'll see.
